So, our helpers over the winter have been Helena and Charlene, from Germany. They have been here since September, and will be leaving at the end of February (ah man, it is February already!) in order to apply for university. So, after spending the whole winter promising to take them exciting places, and then mainly getting rained on, we are finally managing to get a couple of good trips in before they go. Helena has been partnered up with the Cookie monster, and they seem to get on very well (it might be love), whilst Charlene is small enough to be very handy for riding the ponies, although of course, she prefers the big horses.
January 2013
Yes, it is already nearly the end of January, 2013. Where does the time go? We had our only covering of snow here in Dingle last week, turning the mountains into the perfect winter scene, and even better it only lasted 24hours, so did not interfere with our riding too much (unlike the rain!). Today was beautiful, so it is easy to look forward to starting to get the horses fit for the coming season.
Doire
Doire, born 2007, by 'All the Diamonds', is a 16hh Irish sporthorse mare. A big girl, but easy going and very friendly.
Heather
Heather, born 2003, is a 16.1hh appaloosa (yes, it's like a wet t-short competition, the spots only come out in the rain). She loves the water and the beach, don't we all?
King
'The King', born 1998 but only with us since 2012, he quickly became a favourite. What a handsome boy, oh yeah!
